Dogs of Shogun

The dogs who live with us here at Shogun are our companion house dogs - who are outside a lot of the daylight hours. We are fortunate to have a large fenced in area on our property, which gives them plenty of running room. We usually have growing puppies in the house with us and 2-3 of the adult dogs. Everyone is in the house at night, and everyone lives in harmony. Our dogs are Monte, Harry (Sussex), Anita, Nikki, Angelina, Diva, and Mona.

Some of our puppies have gone to homes under co-ownership. This has kept us in close contact with owners who wanted assistance showing the dogs and we have also done this for breeding purposes. These dogs visit frequently and Shogun has remained a second home to them. Dogs that we co-own are Duke, Millie, Tess, Portia (Spinone Italiano), Detour, AnaClaire, Danny, Lana, Lisa, Nevada, Zelda, Gracie, Alice, and Gracie (2).

Our puppies will always be considered family, and we are here to support them and their owners. We try to keep in contact with them all and love receiving pictures and correspondence from their owners.The rest of the family: Barry, Darcy, Henry, Libby, Noel, Sam, Charlzee, Rudy, MaggieT, Oliver, Quigley, Bentley, Russell, Wicca, Camilla, Cotton, Spencer, Watson, Barley, Chowder, Cutter, Hammond, Thermal, Tristan, Little Helen, Pumpkin, Banana (Tess), Crosby, Dahlia, Josie, Noodle, Wilson, Bee, Emmet, Jasmine, Lydia, Trotter, Wink, Buddy, Twoey, Bernie, Julius, Mugsy, and Vieno.

Sadly, the dogs are not with us forever. There are two who live on in our memories: Mrs. Bumble, an import from Denmark who we lost at six months; and Gloria, our matriarch who ruled our house for eight years. Gloria was the foundation of our breeding program and will live forever in our hearts and through her descendents. Two of Gloria's offspring are now at the bridge with her - Spencer and Tanker.

		12/10/09:NEW TITLE !! Cleveland Crown Classic): Diva (CH Shogun's Funky Diva CD,TD,JH,RN) achieves two Novice A Obedience legs for her Obedience Companion Dog title. Her first two legs were earned in Madison WI Nov. 28th and 29th 2009. This qualifies her for the prestigious Gable Award and the CSCA Versatility Award. 10/11/09: Diva (CH Shogun's Funky Diva TD,JH,RN) is awarded CAC for her Slovakian Championship Title at the World Dog Show in Bratislava, Slovakia. 10/11/09: Harry (CH Clussexx Harry Potter TD) is awarded CAC, CACIB, BOB, Slovakian Championship Title and World Winner 2009 Title at the World Dog Show in Bratislava, Slovakia. This was also his third CACIB for his FCI International Beauty CHampionship, C.I.E. 10/10/09: Harry (CH Clussexx Harry Potter TD) is awarded BOB and a Gundog Group 3 Placement at the National Dog Show in Bratislava, Slovakia. 08/30/09: Spencer (CH Shogun's Little Dividend RN) is awarded a Sporting Group One at the Livonia Kennel Club Show, owner handled by Kristine Ellman. Spencer is out of Spence (CH Nexus Very Expensive) and Nikki (CH Nexus Nicolette TD). 08/28/09: Buddy (Shogun's Double Your Fun) is WD and BOW at the Michigan (CSFM) Specialty. Buddy is out of Gatsby (CH Nexus The Great Gatsby) and Nikki (CH Nexus Nicolette TD). Buddy is owned by Chris and Tracy Lundergan. 07/27/09: NEW CHAMPION !!Mona (CH Shogun's Secret Smile) is awarded BOW in Elkhorn Wisconsin at the Burlington Kennel Club Show. Mona is out of Paris (CH First Dawn at Tavirosh JH) and Anita (CH Shogun's Rhythm of Love TD). She is the ninth of Anita's ten offspring to become a CH. 5/16/09- 5/17/09: NEW JUNIOR HUNTER !! SMSSTC Hunt Test (Southern Michigan Springer Spaniel Training Club): Diva (CH Shogun's Funky Diva TD,JH,RN) achieves two Junior Hunter legs for her JUNIOR HUNTER title in Chelsea MI. 4/29/09 thru 5/02/09: 2009 CSCA National Specialty Results Highlights for Shogun: Nikki (CH Nexus Nicolette TD) wins Best in Veterans' Sweepstakes. Diva (CH Shogun's Funky Diva TD,RN) achieves two Junior Hunter legs. 07/11/08: Bentley (CH Shogun's Play That Funky Music RN) goes BISS at the Michigan Specialty. Congratulations, Steve and Karen Tallant !!! 07/10/08: Mona (Shogun's Secret Smile), Lana (CH Shogun's Ooh-La-La) & Danny (CH Shogun's Danny Boy) all receive Good hip scores from OFA. 05/06/08: The lost is found !! Mona (Shogun's Secret Smile) is recovered in the woods of Pennsylvania after four days and nights lost in the wilderness. Angelina (CH Shogun's Angelina Ballerina TD) is first Award of Merit Bitch. Spencer (Shogun's Little Dividend) is Winner's Dog for five point major, Spencer was owner handled by Kristine Ellman, and is a son of our Nikki (CH Nexus Nicolette TD. Subway (Nexus Darkhorse) is Best in Sweepstakes ! Subway is a son of Rustle (CH Shogun's Nonsuch Tradition! 01/27/08: NEW TRACKING DOG TITLE !! Wicca (CH Castle's Gift of the Wizard TD) earns her Tracking Dog title at the El Paso Tracking Club test held in Fort Bliss TX, owner handled by Kathy Marshburn. 01/06/08: Cotton (Shogun's Spice Twice Cottontail) receives BOB and becomes a Finnish Champion. Congratulations to her owner Ira Sarlin. 09/22/07: NEW CHAMPION !! Wicca (CH Castle's Gift of the Wizard) finishes her championship owner handled by Kathy Marshburn at the Gig Harbor Kennel Club show in Shelton, WA. Wicca Best of Opposite Sex and Winner's Bitch, and she was Reserve Winner's Bitch the preceding day at the 2007 SSCA National Specialty. Thanks Kathy !!! 08/04/07: Harry (Clussexx Harry Potter) is BEST VETERAN IN SHOW at La Crosse WI !!! Harry was also awarded Sporting Group Two on 08/04 and Sporting Group Four on 08/05 - all owner handled. We are so proud of our Sussex man Harry.
